Reports To: VP, Human Resources Position Summary: The HR Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day human resource activities for our Global Product Supply organization. Working with the HR dept in Rosemont, this individual will serve as generalist for headquarters GPS activities. Additionally, this HR manager will oversee labor and employee relations activities, working with the VP/HR and five site locations on labor/union related matters. Responsibilities: Partner with HR VP, site leaders and operational teams to ensure productive relationships with union/management, including building trust, credibility and effective collaboration. Partner with GPS leaders to support and provide direction with organizational planning Assist in resolving manager/employee issues by investigating complaints, evaluating findings and suggesting courses of action Manage the administration of PER/MBO process and merit increase budgeting Maintain positive employee relations climate in office by working with managers to coach, counsel and discipline employees Ensure compliance with and enforcement of company policies and procedures Promote understanding and utilization of sound human resource principles within the local management group Provide training and communication programs for all employees to meet the overall objectives of World Kitchen Support HR/VP and site operations on the development of labor strategies for the company and participate in labor negotiations Assist in analyzing the collective bargaining agreements to interpret union contracts Serve as the grievance 4th step primary contact. Work with HR managers to create a team approach to processes to proactively address grievances Monitor implementation of policies concerning wages, hours, working conditions to ensure compliance with terms of contracts at all locations Serve as back-up for others in HR department as needed 25% travel required Skills Needed: Excellent negotiations skills Exceptional verbal, written and communication skills Ability to collaborate with others to reach mutually agreeable outcomes Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot a variety of HR and labor related problems Ability to manage competing priorities between multiple business units/sites Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or labor relations; advanced degree preferred 6 years of HR experience, with minimum of two in union environment, preferably with manufacturing Demonstrated experience with negotiations Demonstrated leadership, change management, and ability to drive change in the organization while meeting or exceeding business objectives Working knowledge and interpretation of the National Labor Relations Act, state and federal employment laws and regulations.
