The Pension Analyst will work alongside you in support of the day to day activities required. Your primary interfaces will be with the HR Shared Service Center, Payroll, Benefits Center of Excellence, HR Business Partners and Advisors, Nutrien Employees, Pension Carriers and Government and Regulatory Reporting Agencies.What you will do: Provide exceptional customer service to employees from a diverse organization that are seeking additional information relevant to Retirement Plans, or redirecting as appropriateAchieve mastery of HR SSC knowledge by engaging in cross training activities to upskill your ongoing personal knowledge and experience of all areas within the business and the HRSSC groupAct as Subject Matter Expert by keeping up to date with US & Canadian legislations pertaining to Retirement to make administrative and procedural decisions and exercise judgment on sensitive issues in alignment with corporate policy/regulationsSupport the ongoing development and continuous improvement initiatives within the HR Shared Service Center or the Center of Excellence by participating in activities such as the review and update of process documentation and team ways of workingEnsure that your work is managed effectively and efficiently through company systems and that you are adaptable and supportive of any new or changing technologiesSafeguard employee privacy where appropriate, including confidentiality and protection of sensitive informationTo ensure that health, safety, security and risk issues are considered and factored into all areas of activity, regular reviews are undertaken and actions taken as necessary Administer the US and Canadian defined contribution pension plan (including 401(k) and RRSP programs) and defined benefit pension plans ensuring compliance with Plan Document and legislationServes as liaison and provides information to plan actuaries and 401(k) and defined contribution plan record-keepersManage compliance audits and filings, ensuring that compliance with all regulatory requirements applicable to the defined contribution, defined benefit and 401(k) plans are met including employee notifications and government filingsPrepares estimated pension plan benefits and communication packages for active, terminated vested, retirees, beneficiaries and alternate payee participants upon terminationManage the processing of pension payments with trusteeConsulting with participants/members on pension plan provisions and payment electionsAdvise participant/member on regulatory requirementsProvide ongoing education to employees about pension plans including preparing and presenting employee communication materialsEnsure all requested information from independent auditors are captured and resolve any complex issues or discrepanciesProvides support for data managements projects including retirement plan non-discrimination testing and annual benefit statementsPerforms audits of indicative data to ensure accuracy of information shared between plan provider and HRIS systemResponsible for reconciliation of payroll to G/L for savings plan recordsAssists with HRIS system maintenance and system testing of savings/pension plans and recordsSupport the improvements of systems and procedures in order to enhance the HR Shared Services Centre efficiencyProvides direction and support to Pension Analyst and other HRSSC members as appropriateDevelops and maintains operational procedures and process documentation for plans taking into account established deadlines. Increase efficiency within the team by identifying ways to improve processesWhat you will bring: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources or other similar degreeMinimum 5 years pension and retirement plan experienceComprehensive knowledge and experience with US and CAN Retirement plans, practices, policies and regulatory requirementsExperience with defined benefit plansTechnology skills including Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint at intermediate levelPrevious experience with regulatory filings and government formsStrong customer-service orientationStrong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skillsStrong relationship building skills with all levels within the organizationAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously meeting required deadlinesDemonstrated self-motivation, analytical, problem solving skills and initiative to achieve desired outcomesStrong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working with multiple functions and in a multi-tasking, deadline oriented, team environmentAbility to make administrative and procedural decisions and exercise judgment on sensitive issuesDemonstrated strengths in decision-making and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and respond appropriately to urgent requestsDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with patience and empathy in both written and verbal communicationsSolution-oriented with demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, peers and team membersStrong willingness to continuously improve the performance of both one’s self and the HR SSC through continuous learning and self-developmentAbility to be flexible in terms of working schedule, potential requirement to work overtime or weekends during peak activity periodsAbility to work as part of a fasApply for this job.
