About the role… We are looking for a self-motivated Research Associate to support all projects within the production team. This is a hands-on lab-based role which requires the ability to work efficiently and troubleshoot. The right candidate will be well-organized, detail oriented, flexible, and able to deliver high quality results on time. As a HighThroughput (HTP) Sampling Coordinator, you will…. Sample tissue culture plants created by the Plant Delivery team across multiple crops and deliver samples (plant tissue) to the Plant Characterization TeamExecute and track decisions to keep or discard tissue culture plants based on analysis resultsProvide quality plant care to enable the transfer of characterized plants from the lab to the greenhouse on a weekly basis Deliver tissue culture plants from the lab to the greenhouse based on requested analysis and target numbers through coordination with the Project Manager, Greenhouse Manager, and HTP team.Provide weekly reports and feedback to the project manager and HTP team on key performance indicators such as target number reached, sample and plant number projections, and plant health from tissue cultureMaintain a clean working environment in the lab and plant growth chambers for plant tissue sampling and plant care.Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and develop effective solutions when problems occurMaintain an accurate, comprehensible, and current laboratory records in databases and notebooksCommunicate results in written technical reports and oral presentations You bring Bachelor s in Plant Biology or a related subject with 2 years laboratory experienceExperience with plant care of soybean and maizeExperience with aseptic technique in laminar flow and biocontainment hoodsAbility to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailExcellent planning, organization, and execution skillsAbility to develop and optimize protocolsProficiency with Google Suite (Mail, Docs, Slides, Sheets and Drive) and cloud-based electronic notebook software like BenchlingExcellent time management and organizational skillsStrong communication skills, both written and oralCuriosity, desire to continuously learn and have a meaningful impactDemonstrated innovative, critical thinking, willingness to be bold and take risksA collaborative approach, open to giving and receiving ideas, perspectives, and feedbackAn interest in science and/or agriculture Additional qualifications Knowledge of plant transformation technologiesApply for this job.
