Human Resources Representative

Corporate Business Unit:
Corporate encompasses the core operational support for all Land OLakes businesses. It includes Business Development Services, Corporate Market Strategy and Communications, Finance, Law, Human Resources, Information Technology and Public Affairs.
Position Purpose:
Supports Human Resources, Labor and Employee Relations at the Tulare, California, plant. Functions include Labor & Employee Relations, Performance Management, Recruiting, Learning & Development, EEO/AAP, Benefits Administration, Best Talent Survey Action Planning, and Compensation.
-Responsible for hourly recruitment process to include selection and hiring.
-Coordinating and scheduling interview process. Maintain and track applicant information.
-Conduct orientation and coordinates the new-hire process. Conducts plant training.
-Participate in community activities that demonstrate and support our Affirmative Actions goals.
-Assist with interviewing process.
-Schedule and participate in orientation of new hires and give tours.
-Coordinates employee-related programs including FMLA and EAP.
-Maintain employee files.
-Provide support to employees.
-Assist in investigations, corrective actions and terminations.
-Communicates and administers HR related policies/procedures fairly and consistently.
-Provides an avenue for the hourly workforce to communicate their needs and concerns.
-Understand the importance of meeting customer as well as statutory and regulatory requirements.
-Maintains confidentiality.
-Comply with appropriate written procedures and work instructions.
-Keep legible records.
Position Location: Tulare, CA
Experience-Education (Required):
-Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required and a MA – HRIR degree or active student with at least one year completed. Previous human resources or business experience desired
-2 years experience (minimum) in Human Resources with concentration in employee/labor relations and manufacturing required.
– Ability to engage with employees of all levels in a manufacturing facility including management by walking around.
– Ability to effectively collaborate with local, regional, and corporate HR and cross Functional teams to achieve plant objectives.
– Flexibility to relocate in the future for career advancement opportunities is required.
Competencies-Skills (Required):
-Highly motivated; ability to work independently.
-Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
-Demonstrated leadership skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Demonstrated strategic thinking skills.
-Proficient in MS Office suite.
Experience-Education (Desired):
-California labor / human resources experience
-Labor relations experience in a unionized manufacturing setting
-Certification from SHRM and/or HRCI
Percentage of Travel: 10%
