The individual will perform preventive maintenance, modifies, installs, operates, calibrates, trouble shoots, dismantles, and maintains company heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, and provides customer training in the implementation of those systems in compliance with company standards and procedures and government regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, etc.). Responsible for staying current with older technologies as well as state of the art technologies. Responsibilities: * Installs, inspects, maintains, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance of all heating, air conditioning, ice machines, refrigeration, and ventilation systems. * Inspects HVAC systems and their components (heating units, air handlers, chillers, walk in cooler/freezers, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating their condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommended preventative maintenance. * Repairs heating and air conditioning systems and components (i.e. pumps, motors, air handlers, humidifiers, fans, coils, piping, HEPA filtration, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a comfortable work environment. * Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving critical equipment repairs and safety concerns. * Coordinates equipment shutdowns and repairs with internal customers. * Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring the availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repairs in a timely manner.
* Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions. Qualifications:Minimum Skills, education, experience: * High School Diploma/GED equivalent; Incumbent must be a graduate of an accredited HVAC/R apprenticeship program with a minimum 5 years” experience. Desirable skills, education, experience: * Associate”s degree is preferred. Other Requirements * Must hold a valid CFC certification documentation * Participate in the computerized maintenance management system for work and equipment documentation.
* Good understanding of using all types of tools and instruments needed to perform job responsibilities. * Good analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals. * Familiar with a building management system (Siemens). Monitor design parameters for equipment status and efficiency. Assist in programming recommendations for the system. * Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure the job is done correctly the first time. * Team player willing to work with various trades during emergency situations to get the site equipment operable. * 5+ years of experience in a commercial, industrial, or institutional setting. * Observe all company procedures and safety rules
