You will own your own work and find innovative ways to deliver on our vision of feeding the world responsibly while working along beside 15,000 people around the globe who care about you.Reporting to the Manager, Pension & Benefits Administration, the Immigration Advisor is responsible for the day to day organizational immigration activities, with a strong focus on improving the service offerings through customer service and operational efficiencies. This position will work across all business units, consulting with employees, HR colleagues and business leaders on all immigration requests. Key Tasks:- Act as subject matter expert on Agrium immigration cases, managing the day-to-day administration of internal US and Canadian and Global immigration requests for intermittent or permanent North American and Global cross border movement- Drafting of immigration documentation such as work permit applications, business support letters and traveler pocket letters for review and final sign off – Facilitate in the processing of US NAFTA, H-1B, L1, E2, B1 and permanent residency cases- Facilitate in the processing of Canadian TN, ICT and familiarity with Labor Market Impact Assessment processes and permanent residency cases- Consult with employees and leadership on potential and actual movement of resources across the globe as it relates to immigration and proactively identify the impact on the business- Accountable for the tracking and auctioning of work permit expiry and extension- Liaise with immigration legal counsel, review documentation, sign off on behalf of the organization and manage flow of information- Provides high touch service, responding the employees calls and queries, answering and assisting with any immigration related questions- Works closely with the broader HR team to advise of changes in immigration policies and/or regulations – Responsible for reporting and budgeting guidance to both internal stakeholders- Provides the education and scope required to ensure Agrium is compliant with immigration requirements and regional customs- Initiates and maintains Certificates of Coverage- Create purchase requisition/purchase orders for immigration services with third party vendors – Supports Global Mobility Advisor with day to day administration of relocation and cross border movement- Other duties and projects as assignedTheIdeal CandidateOutside of the skills and necessary qualifications, our ideal candidate must be committed to achieving superior results with integrity and sustaining our safe and positive work environment while having the ability to embrace working side by side others in a diverse culture.Skills:- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail- Ability to meet deadlines and time commitments- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles- Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and exercise judgment on sensitive issues- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong results/goal orientation- Solution-oriented with demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, peers and team members- Demonstrated self-motivation, and initiative to achieve desired outcomes- Ability to handle confidential employee/company informationQualifications:- A Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources or other similar degree- Paralegal certification is considered an asset – A minimum of 4 years of experience with Global Immigration and/or Mobility and US and Canadian immigration- Experience drafting immigration documentation such as work permit applications, business support letters and traveler pocket letters for review and final sign off with Legal Counsel is considered an asset- GMS designation would be considered a significant asset.- Experience with SAP is preferred Why Agrium?Winning together; Our Cultivating Excellence culture coupled with great people and delivering superior results with integrity is what sets Agrium apart from other career opportunities.
