Cargill Protein is a leader at delivering primary processed and value added proteins into the Foodservice, Retail and Manufacturing market channels. It operates several food processing facilities located in the US and Canada. Our customers in Foodservice are comprised of large national restaurant chain operators, contract feeding companies and both national and regional foodservice distributors. Our Retail customers are comprised of primarily large national grocery retailers and warehouse clubs. Our Manufacturing customers are comprised of large branded manufacturers of retail consumer packaged goods. The customers from these channels are attracted to working with Cargill because of our demonstrated leadership in delivering innovative products, integrity, operational excellence, food safety and risk management.Position PurposeCargill?s Protein Group has an opportunity for an Innovation Portfolio Manager. This role is accountable for providing leadership and management of the Cargill Protein Group Project Management Office (PMO), and as such, is responsible for the innovation portfolio management, project delivery process, and project management processes across channel for the Protein Group. The Innovation Portfolio Manager is expected to: 1) Create plans for resource needs for respective scope and direct the implementation of plans across the protein group, 2) Facilitation of effective customer focused portfolio review team meetings (PRT?s), 3) Communicate the state and status of projects in the Innovation portfolio to the group leadership team, 4) Partner with operations, procurement, supply chain, and regulatory in managing projects and products throughout their respective lifecycles. The ideal candidate will possess high integrity, courage, and character as personal traits.??Principal Accountabilities40% Responsible for the Project Management Office, maintaining an overview of the Innovation project portfolio status, value and assurance of strategic fit. As lead facilitator for the CFI PRT you will manage the structure and processes of the portfolio across the channels for the Protein Group.? With the portfolio sponsors, you will enable alignment across channel on prioritization, resource capacity, gaps, and risks; including facilitation of consequent action plans to address.20% Serves as the overall resource manager for the portfolio, ensuring resource utilization is properly forecasted and optimized across the critical functions.? Ensure the portfolios are a reflection of growth strategies and business plans. Develop and maintain PMO communication plan that addresses accountabilities, structure, and process.20% Responsible for development and building capability of project managers and critical leadership roles (Technical Leadership, Commercial Leadership, Financial Leadership) within project management with respect to proven practices. Leads project managers and critical team members (including leadership) in usage of the project management framework and project delivery process to achieve project objectives of delivered on time, on budget and business results are realized for projects up to the highest cost and risk.10 % Serve on Enterprise and Cargill wide teams to internalize best practices into Cargill and the Protein Group. Identify external and internal best practices, and foster those practices into Cargill.10% Responsible for the people management in project management including recruiting, retention, development and engagement of team.
