Insurance Sales Specialist
AgStar is seeking an Insurance Sales Specialist in the Blue Earth, MN location to contribute to the achievement of AgStar’s goals through crop insurance sales and service. The individual will provide direct and primary support to Financial Services Officers and works collaboratively in a team environment with sales and service responsibilities focusing on crop insurance clients. They will provide support with projects and team/client/prospect training. The Insurance Sales Specialist will service existing policies and assist with client sales, typically interacting with clients in the office, on the farm (as needed) or via phone, mail or text. The areas of support include, but are not limited to: assist with crop hail applications, complete actual production history (APH) and acreage report documents, evaluate and maintain appropriate unit structure on each policy, review schedules of insurance, process crop claims, and monitor claims until completion. The individual will provide regular updates to the sales team and leadership showing sales and claims activity for the assigned flagship. Successful candidates for this position will have: bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture or related field; or equivalent work experience; minimum of 2 years related work experience with a minimum of 1 year of work experience in the crop insurance field or equivalent;knowledge of crop insurance programs and information, grain marketing, finance and macroeconomics; basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices and analytical skills; marketing and sales skills with ability to discover and address challenges; strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with both internal and external clients; accuracy and attention to detail; ability to handle situations appropriately and work under pressure with tight deadlines in a team environment; ability to understand and communicate risk management strategies to clients/prospects; intermediate computer skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and internal applications/programs; insurance license and Risk Management Agency (RMA) certification as a crop insurance agent required (or ability to obtain).
