Intern Drafting, Electrical and Instrumentation

We currently have an intern position available at our chemical fertilizer processing facility in Pocatello, ID. In the Rocky Mountain foothills, Pocatello offers a university, parks, golf, and outdoor recreation. What's in it for you?This position assists the Engineering Department with an assortment of learning opportunities and project work as assigned. You will work with plant E&I Tech's to document accurate wiring schematics and plant documentation. Learning proper NFPA 70E work practices and safety procedures. You will have the opportunity to build on your troubleshooting skills for electrical and instrumentation disciplines. The position is a part-time, year-long internship during the school year (20-25 hours per week).
Hours are flexible between 8am and 5pm.
What you will do: * Work closely with design engineers to produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings and electronic images.* Calculate tolerance stack-ups.* Design parts based on written and verbal descriptions from deisgn engineers.* Works closely with department in the plant to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free.* Work from customer drawings, company drawings, government drawings or specifications.* Use the DOD drawing standards as guidelines.* Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. What you already have: Actively enrolled in a degree seeking program. One year experience in similar or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience creating technical drawings based on given specifications and calculations. Able to work with engineers, who provide the product or structure's details. The draftsman incorporates these specifications into drawings and plans that may be used in the manufacture, maintenance or repair of the product or structure.Adheres to all standards, policies and systems as appropriate.
