Intern: Engineering Co-Op (May 2017 – December 2017)
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Processing and Food Ingredients Division. We are looking for an Engineering Co-Op Student to join our team. This position will offer a student the opportunity to work two separate semesters at CHS; one alongside our engineering support team in MN and one alongside a plant operations teams at a CHS plant location. You must have excellent communication, organization, and management skills. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on engineering experience in both a professional office setting and a plant environment. Engineering Track you willWork with engineers to obtain information needed to complete drawings.Develop designs and action plans to implement improvements.Manage small projects as business demands require, present solutions to the engineering-management team in a professional and articulate format.Processing Plant Track you willTrain alongside the operations team to begin to understand the process and day-to-day operation of the plant.Evaluate unit operations in the plant to identify opportunities for debottlenecking and improving efficiency.Interact with operators and maintenance personnel to determine front line perception of operational issues, assist with modifications of equipment and create and communicate solutions. Basic Qualifications: (required)Currently working towards a degree in Mechanical or Chemical EngineeringProficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookAbility to travel as neededPreferred Qualifications: (desired)Experience with AutoCAD or similar Computer Aided Drafting softwarePrior intern experiencePublic speaking experienceApply for this job.
