SUMMARY: The Environmental Intern is committed to supporting various Environmental corporate groups by participating in completion of specific projects and working with Environmental Operations team members on selected tasks to gain a broad understanding of Tyson plant-level operations. The goal of this position is to establish a pool of potential candidates who are familiar with Tyson and have an appropriate educational background for an EHS trainee or other positions within the company. This position is intended to provide the Environmental Intern with the following experiences: completion of meaningful work, either as an individual or as part of a team; exposure to a “real life” work environment; regular interaction with a supervisor; practical experience in the food industry; the opportunity to self-evaluate personal strengths and opportunities for further development; and development of workplace competencies. Work will be assigned by an Environmental associate director, with tasks dependent on specific needs at that time. Potential assignments will be commensurate with the intern's educational background and career goals.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: A candidate for the Environmental Intern program must have completed their sophomore year at an accredited college or university, and be in the process of completing an undergraduate degree or working on their graduate degree, preferably in the field of engineering,technology, science, or agriculture.Experience: Previous work experience in a professional setting preferred.Computer Skills: Computer skills are a prerequisite.Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively.SupervisoryResponsibilities: NoneTravel: Up to 2 times per monthSpecial Skills: Must be a self-starter, function as part of a team, and exhibit sound analysis and judgment.
