Livestock Production & Processing InternWe have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to join our supply chain team as a Livestock Production & Processing Intern located within our Deforest, WI and Dekorra, WI operations. Interns will rotate through various Supply Chain departments to gain insight into the Supply Chain workflow and get first hand exposure to the Livestock Handling, Laboratory and Distribution teams. Additionally, interns will work within a team to further learn and assist in the processing, packaging and quality control of bovine semen. Interns will also have the opportunity to assist in the receiving, warehousing and shipment of products. Overview of Responsibilities Process bovine semen used for artificial inseminationPerform a variety of laboratory testsOperate a range of precision equipmentPerform quality assurance and quality control tasksProvide excellent care and maintenance of the bull populationProvide maintenance, upkeep and security of ABS facilitiesAssist with the treatment of bulls as directed by the veterinary teamFollow all safety and biosecurity procedures and protocolsDemonstrate a positive and professional image QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Currently enrolled or recently completed coursework in Animal Breeding, Agricultural Business, Genetics, Animal Science, Dairy Science, or related field.Experience handling large animals or livestock.Strong communication skills.Self-motivated.Effectively work both independently and as part of an interactive team.Valid Driver’s License.Availability to work full time for 12 consecutive weeks during 2019 summer Applicant RequirementsComplete online application and include the following:Resume & cover letterUnofficial college transcriptOne letter of academic or professional recommendationApply for this job.
