Internal Auditor – Accounting Degree Required
The corporate headquarters of Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC, a national agricultural chemical company, has an immediate opening for Internal Auditor. This position conducts audits for management to assess effectiveness of controls, accuracy of financial records, and efficiency of operations. Must primarily perform office or non-manual work directly related to management policies or general business operations. Also, must exercise independent choice and judgment in matters of consequence 50% or more of the time. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Conducts or assists in conducting simple to moderate audits of accounting and statistical data of various departments, divisions, and locations in order to verify accuracy and level of company policy compliance with regard to: Purchasing; Inventory Control; Credit Extension and Approval; Cash Receipts, Cash Disbursement, Accounting Standards; Sales Procedures; Safety; Regulatory Agencies; Systems and Security; Acquisition Due Diligence; and Laws.Reviews records pertaining to material assets through physical count, inventory, and confirmation and determines degree to which they are utilized.Analyzes data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, or lack of compliance with laws, government regulations, and management policies or procedures.Prepares and submits reports on the results of audits, recommending improvement in compliance with policies and procedures.Assists branch and division personnel with specific problem areas and provides a link between the sales location and the corporate office.Assist Ernst & Young auditors to expedite the financial audit.Participates in special projects as needed.May review data regarding material assets, net worth, liabilities, surplus, income, and expenditures.Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.Reliable and regular attendance is expected. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor s Degree in Accounting from a 4 yr. college /university, with a minimum GPA of 3.25, in both major and overall. MBA or Master s degree preferred. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:Good written and verbal communication skills.Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.Ability to adapt to changing conditions and responsibilities.Ability to count inventory in warehouse, tank farms, fertilizer sheds, outdoor weather conditions, and occasionally in high, precarious places.
