Internal Communications Manager, Chicago or Decatur, IllinoisADM Corporate Communications This is a full time, exempt position ADM?s Internal and Executive Communications function plays a key role in ensuring our 32,300 employees worldwide understand ADM?s vision, priorities and strategy by: Developing timely, relevant and compelling editorial content for the company?s online news vehicles.Developing speeches, presentations and various written communications for senior leaders? use with internal and external audiences. Initiating and executing internal education/information campaigns in support of corporate priorities.Counseling leaders on communications strategies and tactics. Position overview: The communications manager is part journalist, part communications counselor and strategist. He or she will join a team of three other writers/strategists/counselors in a close-knit, collegial and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working directly with senior executives to recommend and carry out communications programs that help address complex business challenges. At the same time, he or she must be able to think and write like a beat reporter, casting a wide net for news-story opportunities that inform, educate and motivate the company?s employees.
Requirements: Impeccable writing and critical-thinking skills an absolute must. Prefer minimum of 5 years? experience in either journalism and/or corporate communications. We?re looking for someone who?s versed in both AP Style and in stylistic conventions of major social media. Experience working closely with senior-level executives essential. Candidate also should be an avid reader who brings outside perspectives and insights to his/her work. Global focus important. Ability to travel for short periods. Ready sense of humor a plus.
