Inventory Control Team LeadMonsanto is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead the Inventory Control Team supporting the North America Logistics team. In this role, you will provide oversight and management of Monsanto seed and crop protection inventory at our 3rd Party Logistics partner managed warehouses and terminals. Supervising a team of three Monsanto employees, the team is responsible for monthly inventory reconciliation and accuracy, daily and weekly inventory adjustments, as well as SAP and WITS systems support to inventory management users. The role is responsible for the weekly and monthly production of inventory metrics as well as customer and stock transfer delivery inventory adjustment cases within Salesforce.This is an exciting and challenging role that allows you to apply analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance logistics processes. In this role, you will assure inventory controls are in place that meet or exceed SOX regulatory requirements and provide proper stewardship of Monsantoâ??s inventory. This includes monitoring of inventory, collecting inventory reports, resolving inventory issues and reporting on inventory accuracy as well as coaching others on the proper management of inventory. The Lead is accountable for highlighting potential issues and opportunities as well as recommending and leading resolutions; supporting day to day activities, projects and new businesses opportunities related to logistics.Responsibilities:â?¢Develop processes and procedures to assure compliance and to maintain good control of Monsantoâ??s inventory in all US 3rd party warehouses including:oChannel Seedsman WarehousesoSeed Distribution WarehousesoPackaged Chemical WarehousesoBulk Chemical Warehouses and TerminalsoSeed Applied Solutions WarehousesoBulk metered truck inventoryâ?¢Accountable for monthly inventory reporting across all sites including inventory accuracy metrics and a summary of any inventory adjustments offs. Monitors performance by location and business.â?¢Lead projects and process improvement initiatives that impact inventory managementâ?¢Ensure adequate inventory of materials and products in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophyâ?¢Conduct inventory analysis to solve inventory problemsâ?¢Develop and implement inventory control proceduresâ?¢Coordinate inventory issue resolution across departmentsâ?¢Resolve any inventory issues and advises management when appropriateâ?¢Conduct, organize and work cross-functionally to complete annual audits of 3rd party sitesâ?¢Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures for the inventory processesâ?¢Develop and lead a team of Inventory SpecialistsQualifications:Required Skills / Experience:â?¢Minimum of 5-10 years in supply chain, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, planning, or seed business experienceâ?¢Bachelors Degree required (Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Agricultural Science related). Masters Degree Preferredâ?¢Demonstrated leadership capabilities, ability to influence, coach, manage conflict, and build cross-functional relationshipsâ?¢Demonstrated knowledge of SAP (or equivalent ERP) inventory management toolsâ?¢Broad range of computer skillsâ?? such as databases, spreadsheets, statistics applications, Outlook, etc. Ability to learn other applications quickly.â?¢Understanding advanced Inventory Management and supply chain conceptsâ?¢Strong quantitative, analytical and decision making skillsâ?¢Strong written and verbal communication skillsDesired Skills / Experienceâ?¢The ideal candidate will have prior inventory management experience and be able to develop relationships and open lines of communication within all required internal and external networks.â?¢Proficiency with Spotfire or other reporting applicationsâ?¢Understanding of compliance regulations that impact revenue recognition and inventory control including Sarbanes-Oxley complianceâ?¢Knowledge of the seed and chemical cycle from production through distributor / dealer networkâ?¢Ability to travel away from St. Louis 10-15% of timeApply for this job.
