Position Summary:This position will encourage continuous improvement with a focus on prevention that will improve mill efficiency and customer satisfaction. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a critical role in a well-developed food safety program.
With a fixed focus on pest management, sanitation and sanitary design, chemical applications can be reduced.
Review insect monitoring records and trends, investigate any issues and recommend/complete corrective actionsWork in conjunction with departments on daily and weekly sanitation tasksShadow pest management company on weekly service visit to observe and discuss corrective actions to opportunities documentedFacilitate corrective actions related to pest prevention and sanitationFacilitate Spills and leaks policyDevelop, implement, validate and make adjustments to master sanitation schedulesProvide initial and annual training on proper sanitation practices Perform zonal inspections each week to cover the entire facility once per month searching for opportunities pertaining to sanitation, sanitary design and IPMFacilitate activities leading into foggings and fumigationsConduct post fumigation and fogging inspections of entire plant for insect fall out. Investigate hot spots and recommend/ complete corrective actionsResidual insecticide applicationsTrailer and railcar fumigations and aerationsIPM tasks Job Requirements: Knowledge of milling process preferredAbility to identify issues of concerns and develop corrective action plans Good communication, leadership & organizational skills Basic knowledge of stored product pests preferred Ability to obtain State Pesticide Applicator licenseGood computer skillsRoute cause analysis and trouble shooting skillsAn Associate Degree or equivalent work experience
