IT Network Engineer
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Information Technology group. We are looking for a Network Engineer to assist in the oversight of existing network infrastructure and growth of the CHS enterprise network. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be detail oriented and have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a team environment and independently. You will: Perform routine and complex engineering, support, and administration of CHS enterprise network services and infrastructure.Analyze and consult with the business on needs, recommended solutions and effort/cost estimate guidance for the purchase, installation and support of network communications.Prepare detailed specifications and end to end Visio designs for implementation and support of network solutions.Partner with consulting resources to manage facilities Avaya phone systemMonitor, log, track and resolve hardware, software and infrastructure deficiencies and note weaknesses or tendencies toward failure within the full range of system lifecycle — build, service provisioning, operations and decommissioning.Provide assistance in network planning, engineering, architecture and the development of technical standards and technical strategy.Develop and implement project plans for network technologies and systems.Establish repeatable processes/ templates to drive operational efficiency with continuous feedback/improvement of network, operational support, and IT services for site customersEngage, interact with, and drive vendor and peer support team resolution of Network related incidentsConduct root cause analysis of network device, system, and service related incidentsProactively monitor, manage and respond to facility hardware, software and infrastructure problems in the support of network systems while ensuring compliance with change and governance processes.Train and provide technical support to new and existing customers of network systems/services and peer support teams/resources.Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.Work non-traditional work hours and occasional off hours to control interruptions to production processing and business impact.Basic Qualifications: (required) Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other technical program (Industry Certifications or additional years of network experience may offset degree requirement)5 plus years of experience as a network engineer to include:Managing and supporting sophisticated network environments, LAN and WAN architecturesDesigning and implementing LAN and WAN network solutionsKnowledge of industry protocols (i.e. TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, ISIS, IPSec and VLANs and Spanning tree)Preferred Qualifications: (desired) ITIL CertificationCisco certification: CCNA, CCNPBGP, SNMP, Sys logging, SSHFirewalls (Palo Alto)Understanding of QOS/COS traffic shaping/bandwidth throttlingUnderstanding of monitoring, packet capture, analysis and ISP provisioningUnderstanding of wireless implementation and configurationUnderstanding of Cisco wireless controllers and access pointsUnderstanding of 802.11G/N in both 2.4 and 5 GHz frequenciesUnderstanding of RADIUS, TACACS+, SNMP, SSH and SysloggingUnderstanding of VoIP, H.323, SIP, POTSUnderstanding of Fiber ChannelApply for this job.
