IT Support Specialist – SEEDWAY – Elizabethtown, PA
?Seedway is?headquartered in Hall, New York with branches in Pennsylvania, Florida, Vermont, Maine, and New York. Seedway has?about 220?employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 15,000 customers.?The cooperative does business in farm, vegetable, and turf seed.?Seedway is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.?PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT?Receive and resolve issues on the company supported servers, networks, PCs, peripherals and related technologies.? Check in and installation of new equipment and monitoring the status of the existing equipment.??Monitoring and running technical processes to meet the business requirements and ensure system and data availability.??ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS?Maintains current knowledge and understanding of computer hardware, operating systems and software applications, as well as peripheral and mobile devices to assist users in resolving problems and answer questions with minimal supervision.? Makes reccommendations for new hardware and software to meet the changing business requirements.?Interprets users? problems over the phone and responds with solutions.?Ensures intercommunication, and interaction of all company supported devices and systems through testing as well as working with other internal IT staff and external service and support providers to maintain optimum support of business functions at company offices, plants, as well as in the field.?Monitor and maintains disaster recovery hardware, software and processes as well as backup processes and procedures.?Installs, maintains and updates server and PC related hardware operating systems and third party software, sometimes working with outside vendors/service providers?Installs and maintains network and communication equipment, including telephone, fax, LAN and mobile, as well as work with service providers to install and troubleshoot issues.?Assists the IT Manager in the maintenance and distribution of operator manuals for all related software, hardware and related processes.?Assists with the on-site and remote training as required.?Transports, installs and tests computer hardware, software, and peripherals where needed.?Works with parent company to administer and troubleshoot service such as email that they provide.??OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS?Participates in meetings and planning sessions upon request.?Aids IT Manager where needed to best enable the company technologically.?Follows GROWMARK?sCode of Conduct andCorporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOTpolicies and procedures, as they apply.?Performs all other duties as assigned.??REQUIREMENTS?Normally requires an associates degree in information systems, or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of computer related services related areas including computer software application, technical support, testing integration, server management, training, policies and procedures.?Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.?Must have and maintain a valid driver?s license and satisfactory driving record.Ability to work hours that extend beyond normal business hours and on-call availability.?Ability to travel independently and overnight, sometimes on short notice.?Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK?s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.???We are an equal opportunity employer, including protected veterans and qualified individuals with disabilities.
