We currently have a IT Systems Engineer position available at our Corporate Headquarters in Boise, ID.
SUMMARYSystems engineer responsible for the architecture, engineering and administration for Simplot's Global IT standard operating environments. Installs, configures, maintains, and integrates system software and hardware components in compliance with IT standards and security guidelines. Responsible for proactive monitoring and metrics of systems and services on a global basis to ensure high availability and performance for seamless business technology operations. Responsible for performance, availability, health and recoverability of Simplot IT systems. Researches, evaluates, and recommends new and emerging technologies to meet Simplot business needs. Creates and maintains detailed system documentation. Collaborates with other IT teams to ensure platform capabilities and functionality align with our customer demands. RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains and supports global Citrix farms, VDI, & ShareFile technologiesAnalyze, resolve and perform root cause analysis for serious systems failures that impact the performance or functionality of Simplot systems.Ensure the operational health of a mission-critical environment across a Global IT infrastructure.Provide technical consulting and assistance for Global IT teams and projects.Install, configure, maintain, and integrate system software and hardware. Monitor and tune systems to improve performance.Identify opportunities to improve and automate work to improve outcomes and reduce cost.Define and document IT policies, procedures, and standards related to supported systems.Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.Track and report on all team key metrics.Work with key vendors to engineer and support Simplot IT and business solutions.Ensure compliance to IT standards, policies and software licensing. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree from 4 year college or university3+ years related experience.Strong ability to create, review, and publish the creation of OS (Windows 7,8,10) images/builds that can then utilize rapid deployment methods and employ industry best practices.Expertise with application packaging and delivery methods such as XenApp, APP-V, SMS, & MSI-based installer technologies.Strong ability with Active Directory (Group Policy Objects), windows/networking configuration and administration.Strong ability to develop complex application packaging (e.g. OS, patches, applications, scripts, Group Policy Objects, programs, utilities, and hot fixes), certification testing, and distribution across desktop environments.Knowledge of Microsoft O365 technologies a plusCombination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.
