What you will do:As a Machine Health Data & Analytics Part Time Student at John Deere, you will work on a cross-functional team focused on utilizing telematics data to deliver mission-critical solutions, and you'll do it with cutting-edge big data technologies.You will support the development of methods to analyze data from Agricultural, Construction, and Forestry machines to enable automated solutions to deliver machine uptime to our customers.There will be a focus on telematics data mining, manipulation, analytics, and automated solution development.Our team's entrepreneurial attitude and collaborative spirit sets us apart and will keep you impassioned, driven, and fulfilled. Responsibilities include:Documentation and support of methods to automate solutions to dealers.You will work on projects to:Document the processes to connect, flow, store, transform, analyze, automate, and visualize data from John Deere engines and machinesIntegrate with data analysts and engineering subject matter experts on our team to develop and document automated solutionsYou will utilize and gain experience in a wide range of tools and components as you develop and document cutting edge ways to better support our customers and dealers. Such as: SQL, Aginity, RStudio, RShiny, Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, NiFi, Hue, AWS, Netezza, Tableau, Sqoop, Oozie, H2O Spark, HDFS, Grafana What It TakesMicrosoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPointGood communication and documentation skills A strong candidate will also haveCapable of learning Microsoft VisioExperience in or familiarity with a programing language, such as: R, Python, or SQLPursing a four-year degree in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data & Analytics, Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringMust be registered as a full-time student at a local universityMust be able to commute to the work location on a daily basisGraduation date of May 2020 or later Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above16 – 20 hours/week during the academic year35 – 40 hours/week during the summer semester What You'll GetAt John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go.
