Journeyperson Electrician (Lathrop, CA)

Responsibilities andDuties:Troubleshoots, analyzes problems, and performs all mechanicaloperations necessary to install, modify, dismantle, repair, overhaul andrebuild various types of plant equipment appropriately.Fabricates components and installs systems including, but notlimited to piping systems, conveyor systems, drying systems, cooling systems,chemical processing systems, ducting, structural supports, stairs, pipe racks,catwalk, and handrails.Welds using a variety of methods and material including, butnot limited to Stick, Mig, and Tig. Completes weld following properprocedure for the material and service.
Inspects welded joints andconducts tests to ensure that welds meet company standards, code requirements,and job specifications.Performs precision measurements and adjustments usingmicrometers, calipers, dial indicators, feeler gauges, and other precisioninstruments to verify conformance to specifications.
Performsprecision equipment alignment using computerized alignment equipment.Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and toolsincluding, but not limited to oiling, greasing, inspecting, etc.Prepares hand sketches for fabrication projects; reads andfollows blue prints to complete jobs accordingly.Responsible for laying metal and breaks; repairs metalvessels and pipe leaks.Cuts steel materials using various tools including, but notlimited to sears, band saws, abrasive saws, oxy-acetylene cutting torch, andplasma.Maintains a safe working environment by complying with allrules and regulations, and continuously practices safety while performingduties.
Actively participates in the Respirator Program.Wears the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE),including but not limited to steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hard hat,hearing protection, respirator, fire-retardant clothing, gloves, and darkwelders face shield as required.
May be required to wear additional PPEbased on specific job duties. RequiredQualifications:High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination ofeducation, training and experience.
Journeyperson card preferred.Minimum of four (4) plus years experience and/or training inan industrial manufacturing or chemical plant.Knowledge of basic math skills and reasoning; ability tomeasure accurately.
Knowledge of arc, oxy-acetylene, TIG, and wirefeed welding; G6 certified preferred.Ability to use tools and equipment including, but not limitedto power (electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic) tools, hand grinder, benchgrinder, cutting saw, band saw, porta-power, impact wrench, torque wrench, etc.Ability to install and repair equipment working from andreferencing equipment manuals and blueprints. Excellent communication skills, time management skills, andattention to details.Ability to work independently or under minimal supervisor; ateam player, and ability to work with multiple disciplines.Required to operate a person lift, fork lift, and/or otherequipment as needed; valid drivers license required.
