Role purpose Responsible for accurately representing, positioning, and marketing elite wheat genetics of Syngenta or other originators directly with third party seed company customers operating in North America Provide supporting information on product performance and production characteristics to help customers chose products that best fit their business plan, marketing strategy, and geographic sales area. Work with the Head of KAM in setting and delivering local crop plan and associated financial targets. Lead value pricing processes and inventory management for the crop across the Region. Develop marketing plans for the region that effectively promote the products. Leverage SYT GTM platforms, particularly the SYT seeds relationships with key multiplier-growers (Seed Associates = SAs) as enablers and promoters for expanded use of certified seed, increased SC-/ CP -intensity and ICS development. Represent the Syngenta Seed Care product to Assoicates and Licensees.
Accountabilities 1.Wheat Sales -Manage the development of Account Plans with target customers to achieve company growth targets
-This includes negotiating sales contracts and terms, production plans and other related activities
2.Customer Training for Wheat Genetics -Train customers how to market represented genetics in their market areas.
-Educate customers sales and marketing staff how to correctly position the products and provide features and benefits for the customers growers.
-Create annual business plan to coordinate customer training activities.
3.Wheat Product Line Information Expert -Develop presentations and supporting information in coordination with marketing for distribution to customers each year. Act as the first contact resource for customers who need assistance with questions on the product lines. Represent products to customers during the various training and marketing events.
4.Stakeholder Management -Coordinate with national and global crop teams to source genetics and future traits from other third parties that will then be represented by the cereals group. -Coordinate with the Cereals Operating Unit to position the product as a viable and beneficial value source. -Provide timely and accurate seed stock and experimental variety production forecasts to the Wheat asset team. -Coordination with the Syngenta product advancement process to assure the development of a complete competitive portfolio
5.Develop the crop plan for the Region and provide input to global mid- and long-term crop strategy.
6.Work with Head of KAM to develop financial targets and mid/long term crop budgets.
7.Ensure correct resourcing of local crop strategies at Regional level with Head of KAM.
8.Ensure maximization of the revenue and profit opportunity, both initially and throughout the season through the establishment of value pricing processes and the optimization of asset inventory deploymentSkills:
Knowledge, experience & capabilities
Bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics, Business, Agronomy, or Agricultural Science. Strong knowledge of elite industry germplasm, traits, agronomy, and new technologies. Three to five years industry experience. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong team player and cooperative attitude with fellow employees. Demonstrated ability to sell a technically based product. Willingness to travel extensively at certain periods of the year and spend time in corn and/or soybean fields looking at products with customers. Friendly, honest, sincere, and outgoing personality who enjoys meeting and working with customers to help them grow their business. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
