Primary duties would include product sample shipping, assistance with ongoing greenhouse research efforts and general maintenance in and around the Lab/Greenhouse facility.Key Tasks:Sample shipping:- Decanting of product samples into small bottles- Properly labeling all samples- Providing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Product Labels, as necessary- Ordering of shipping supplies, as necessary- Properly sealing and securing sample material- Packing samples and preparing shipping boxes for safe transportGreenhouse:- Planting crop seeds for small-scale research protocols- Transplanting, as necessary- Maintaining and monitoring watering schedules- Taking pictures and/or coordinating time-lapse videos of growing plants- Provide assistance in applying treatments for research trials- Provide assistance in evaluating seed germination and plant growth- Ordering greenhouse supplies, as necessaryGeneral Maintenance of Lab/Greenhouse:- Sweeping and washing greenhouse floor, as necessary- Maintain landscape around greenhouse, as necessary- Mow lawn, as necessary- Assist in maintaining cleanly lab environment- Assist with lab projects, as neededThe Ideal CandidateOutside of the skills and necessary qualifications, our ideal candidate must be committed to achieving superior results with integrity and sustaining our safe and positive work environment while having the ability to embrace working side by side others in a diverse culture.Skills:- Strong attention to detail needed to complete the required duties safely and correctly.- Self-motivated and ability to work independently- Ability and willingness to work in outdoor conditions on occasion- Ability and willingness to endure high temperatures while working in the greenhouse- Ability to lift 25 lbs and/or move 50 lbs on occasion- Willing and able to work with chemicals/solvents, and wear proper safety equipment- Strong interpersonal skills- Planning and organizational skills- English speaking and reading or bilingual preferred- Moderate computer skills for sample shipments and data entryQualifications:- Must have the ability to complete a Company provided HazMat shipping training, and recertification every 2 years.- Must have the ability to work in a Drug free workplace and possess a valid US Drivers License- High school diploma or equivalent required.- Previous experience with Shipping/Receiving and shipping HazMat desired.- Previous Janitorial/maintenance experience desired.Why Crop Production Services?Winning together; Our Cultivating Excellence culture coupled with great people and delivering superior results with integrity is what sets Agrium apart from other career opportunities.
