Where the Chemistry Happens? Laboratory Technician II (1900030) ? Beachwood, OH The primary function of a Technician II is to build and develop technical skills to support the development and maintenance of advanced chemical solutions for new construction, preservation, repair or renovation of structures. The employee provides support to advanced-level technicians, scientists and managers through the performance of industry-related technical and organizational activities. The employee conducts designed experiments, collects and analyzes test data and reports the data to scientists. Core Responsibilities:Prepare and perform basic materials, chemical, physical, mortar and/or concrete tests Collect and analyze test data and report the data to scientists Communicate effectively; Providing accurate verbal and written results and generate reports and memos within and outside department Coordinate routine projects within the department and conduct designed experiments Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and organized fashionCollaborate with the team on projects and mentor entry-level personnelPerform some specialized testing of specimens prepared during activity.Wear necessary safety equipment and follow company established Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.Maintain good attendance record and report to assigned job station in a timely manner.Follow all appropriate Environmental Protection, Safety, Health (EHS) policies.Wears prescribed Personal Protective equipment and ensures that prescribed safeguards are properly used.Immediately reports unsafe acts or conditions to his/her supervisor and takes immediate interim steps to protect himself/herself and others from serious risk.Understands that Safety and Environmental responsibility is a major part of BASF culture. Must report all unsafe conditions and accidents immediately to appropriate managers or directors. Responsible for the safety of themselves and others.Must understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and other ISO regulations, procedures and processes as they pertain to job responsibilitiesProcess safety roles and responsibilities across the organization are clearly-defined and include an expectation to raise, and authority to respond to process safety concerns. Senior leaders are held accountable for process safety performance. Basic qualifications: 2-year Associates degree in Engineering or Materials Science, or High School Diploma plus 3 years? materials testing experience within concrete testing industry.
