CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Processing and Food Ingredients group for a Lab Technician. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be detail oriented with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely. You will: Perform lab microbiological and chemistry analyses per product and customer requirements.
Enter test results, compile data and send daily reports to appropriate company officials.
Release product with passing analyses from Quality Hold status.
Prepare and send samples to outside laboratories for 3rd party testing.
Assist with preparation of samples to customers per sales and marketing requests.
Inspect all equipment to ensure: proper maintenance, proper documentation, prevention of spills, proper weighing of containers, proper sampling and minimize dust created in normal operation.
Must maintain all tools and equipment and monitor them as your own.Ensure proper housekeeping so that laboratory areas are clean and safe.
Perform food safety and food quality checks in production and packaging areas of the facility.Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
