We currently have a position available at our BUSINESS facility in Othello Plant – Othello, WA. Located in Washington's beautiful Columbia Basin, Othello is surrounded by scenic parks and wildlife. SUMMARYSummary:This position is responsible for ensuring product quality is monitored and tested in compliance with established procedures, specifications and instructions. This position reports to Quality Assurance Supervisor and Teamleader.The Othello facility is one of five plants (Moses Lake, WA; Caldwell, ID; Portage La Prairie, Canada; and Grand Forks, ND) within the processed potato division that of the food Group Division of the J. R. Simplot Company that produces food service French fries, granulated dehydrated mashed potatoes, shredded and southern style hashbrowns and specialty products.This position will work in several areas of the plant including line check, retail, weight check, main line, pre-form, and line two. The individual in this position is responsible for, but not limited to taking samples and performing tests as prescribed by procedure or specifications, reporting to appropriate personnel on status of line operation, recording information in logs and on computer, performing requested test and samples, and keeping work areas and equipment clean. This position must be able to work without close supervision, and is expected to report any substandard sanitation conditions.Overtime requirements in this position are common, and may be required to meet operational goals. RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities:Responsibility 1: Ensures examinations of product for quality are conducted in compliance with established procedures, specifications and lab equipment. Ensure that appropriate supervisor or line personnel receive timely and accurate notification of line status.Responsibility 2: Ensures the recording of information and test results are accurate and decipherable and in the appropriate location in a timely manner. Ensures accurate and consistent decisions are made regarding quality characteristics of products, materials, and equipment.Responsibility 3: Ensures work area and equipment are cleaned regularly with proper chemical handling and/or procedures. Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies.Responsibility 4: Is responsible to attend and participate in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge. Ensures the interface with peers and other support groups is conducted in a participative management style conducive with operational goals.Responsibility 5: Conducts oneself in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the Company.Responsibility 6: Ensures that additional accountabilities as may be required by management be handled in a manner necessary to meet operational and Divisional standards.Additional Key Activities: Ensures self-compliance with Company policies and procedures and Union Labor Agreement.Disclaimer – The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.

Calculate basis math (i.e. averages, percentages, measurements, and ratio's).Abilities: Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in a manner to successfully perform the job duties. Able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs, ladders and catwalks regularly. Work in extreme environments, both wet and cold/hot. Safely lift a maximum of 39 pounds. Safely work with chemicals/solutions (required for testing or cleaning).
