Labor Relations Manager – Remote Opportunity
The Labor Relations Manager, under the direction of the Vice President of Labor, establishes and maintains satisfactory labor/management relations. This individual will provide dedicated labor relations expertise to operations consistent with the company?s overall labor relations and human resource strategy.? Additionally, the Labor Relations Manager assists in the formulations of labor relations policy and represents the business in labor relations, including negotiations, interpretation and administration of the collective bargaining agreements.?
40%: Providing leadership and coaching to field HR Managers directing, guiding, and advising staff on labor relations matters, issues, grievances and cases. Considering intent, application, and compliance requirements of labor and regulatory (United States and Canada) laws. Evaluation of grievances and other local conflicts resulting from labor agreements to determine if contractual violations have occurred and implement appropriate remedies. ?
30%: Responsible for providing expertise in development and execution of a non-union labor strategy to maintain a union-free environment. Creating and implementing positive employee relations strategies, including leadership training with processes, to identify locations with high risk for unionization and collaboration on action plans for reducing that risk.?
30%: In conjunction with the Vice President of Labor, oversees the negotiation and administration of all collective bargaining agreements and may represent the company in negotiations, arbitrations, and other labor proceedings. Will be a management advocate while developing constructive relationships with union leaders.? *This position may be located remotely within the United States.Skills:
Required QualificationsBachelor?s degreeMinimum of 3 years of progressive experience in the Human Resources function, including specific experience in labor?Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures and union agreementsMust have the ability to influence others in a role without direct authorityKnowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor lawsAbility to prepare written reports and correspondences, and presentations to senior leadership and UnionAbility to travel up to 75% of the time as required by business needs
