Late Season Nursery Lead – #01RZ7
We are seeking a motivated Late Season Nursery Lead. This position will be located in Kinia, HI, reporting to our Kunia Trait ??? Pipeline Delivery Lead. This individual will develop and lead a large fast-paced team focusing on delivering results while striving for continual people development and process improvement. Key responsibilities include people development, coaching and communication with key stakeholders inside and outside of Hawaii. This role is also responsible for managing all late season projects in support of corn and soy breeding. Key Responsibilities:Develop strategies to improve nursery operations in collaboration with other research personnel across multiple sitesCoach, develop and recognize full-time staff and hourly field labor to assure long term people development and role satisfaction; Lead leaders Lead team members in a multi-cultural environment that celebrates differences while achieving common goalsInteract with all global customers by clearly communicating seed arrival timelines and expected volumesImplement process improvement initiatives across multiple TPD sites by working with partners and customers to develop metrics driven solutionsParticipate in community outreach activities and share information about the company in support of Hawaiian agricultureCreate and nurture a team environment where each team member feels valued and includedCooperate with other functions on site to share resources such as equipment and labor to ensure all key projects on the farm are prioritized correctlySupervise all teams that manage day to day activities such as pollination, harvesting, processing, and shipping seed back to our global partnersLead research projects or pilot projects to determine creative options to solve day to day issues and challenges.Understand and implement new technologies within agriculture that may be used to improve our processes Assure that all work done with transgenic or stewarded material meets regulatory compliance requirementsSupport and supervise compliance with all applicable aspects of ESH, Quality Management Systems and other Monsanto policiesTrain staff to understand impacts from process to process, crop to crop, and implement agronomic strategies to ensure consistent growth as measured by key performance indicators (KPIs)Qualifications:Required Skills/Experience:MS in agricultural field or BS in agricultural field and 3+ years agricultural research experience. Minimum two years of people leadership experienceTeam leadership skills including excellent organizational and record keeping skills General knowledge of breeding, crop production and farming practices as well as basic seed processing technologyEffective verbal and written communication skillsComputer skills relating to data acquisition and analysisValid Drivers License Bayer successfully completed the acquisition of Monsanto in June 2018, bringing together Monsanto???s leadership in seeds and plant traits with Bayer???s leadership in chemical and biological crop protection.
