Lead Controls Engineer
SUMMARY: This position will work collaboratively in a cross-discipline technical team of engineers, programmers, designers, and technicians in the development and implementation of control systems for all Tyson facilities. The candidate will be skilled in manufacturing automation design, integration, troubleshooting, engineering, programming, and consulting. The candidate will have exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and in team environments. They will be proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in a high output environment.REQUIREMENTSEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systemspreferred. Equivalent experience acceptable.Experience: 6+ years of control engineering experience with the ability to program PLCs, HMIs and SCADA control systems. The candidate should have a background in reading electrical control schematics, developing sequence of operations and converting into automation code. The candidate should be capable of making advanced enhancements, troubleshooting and testing for existing applications.Computer Skills: Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, Visio, AutoCad. PLC and HMI Languages: Proficient in one or more languages including Modicon Unity, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, or Inductive Automation Ignition. Microsoft SQL Server database experience a plus.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Travel: 10 – 12 trips per year. Supervisory Responsibilities: Some supervisory responsibilities may apply as new projects come available.Special Skills: A Lead Controls Engineer should have excellent programming and design skills in PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems; above average mentoring and leadership skills; and an intermediate knowledge in the ANSI/ISA standards.
