We currently have a Lead Cowboy position available at our Land & Livestock facility in Burbank, WA.
SUMMARY Assists in the care and treatment of cattle; acts as aliaison in order to communicate job assignments to the cowboy crew from the CattleManager by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIESMonitors cattle by riding feedlot pens and/or open rangein order to identify sick, injured, or stressed animals; removes the sick orinjured animals to be medically treated. Supervises the physical movement ofcattle upon the Cattle Manager's request. Supervises the cowboy crew in assignments from CattleManager to ensure completion of tasks within given time constraints. Assists the Cattle Manager with the receiving, shipping,sorting, and processing of cattle. Assists in the medical treatmentof sick or injured cattle by following an established medical-treatment planprovided by the Staff Veterinarian. Trains,shoes, feeds, and medically treats horses in order to provide healthy,productive animals. QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE Three or more years experience in an agricultureenvironment with a demonstrated ability to work with cattle; familiarity withcattle diseases, calving, feeding, and movement.
Prior supervisory experience helpful. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions,short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groupsituations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in allunits of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Abilityto compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry outinstructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal withproblems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS ANDABILITIES Ability to saddle and ride a horse. Must provide owntack. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
