Learning Center Agronomist – #01FZG
Monsanto???s North America Row Crops Technology Development & Agronomy organization is seeking a Learning Center Agronomist for the Agronomy Learning Center in Scott, MS. Key responsibilities include:Coordinate and execute variety demonstration program. This includes demo plots with new varieties/hybrids and the appropriate agronomic system for the optimized use of those hybrids/varieties.Administer and conduct crop protection efficacy, tolerance, and Features and Benefits (FAB) trials. Develop and test agronomic systems concepts for our products. Monitor and maintain the agronomic status of the Learning Center including weed management in all crops and PGR/insect management in cotton Manage testing and evaluation of new biotechnology traits and other new products at the Agronomy Center.Develop & conduct training events and lead tours for customers, Monsanto reps, Monsanto Management, and external stakeholders.Participate in local commodity events for the purpose of developing relationships with local growers and collecting feedback for use in optimizing the Learning Center program.Provide support materials for sales, advertising and marketing in form of written summaries, interaction with individual growers, and participation in off-site meetings as appropriate.Supervise contract, per diem, and intern labor. Responsible for specific aspects of the Center's safety program including WPS, monthly safety checks and verification of compliance with the programs.Maintain fiscal responsibility. Assist with maintaining USDA Regulatory Compliance.Administer and execute regulatory science projects to ensure compliance. Qualifications:Required Skills/Experience:Bachelor???s degree in an Ag/Life Sciences or related discipline completed prior to start dateWork experience in an agronomic related field — either through field research, ag sales, extension work, or farm managementTraining and experience in experimental design, field test plot management, statistics and data interpretation. Must obtain State Certified Pesticide Applicators license. Strong computer skills, especially in scientific software.Demonstrated self-discipline, ability to function effectively without direct supervision, ability to work effectively with other Agronomy Center personnel, research and marketing personnel. Strong photography skills. Excellent time management skills.May be required to push, lift or pull up to 70 lbs.May be required to work in strained or cramped positions.Ability to pass driving record background check (i.e. moving violations, accidents, license suspension, etc.)Desired Skills/Experience:Master???s and/or PhD in an Ag/Life Sciences or related disciplineApply for this job.
