SUMMARYThe Production Lift Truck Operator is a member of a team which includes Packaging Area Coordinators, Warehouse Lift Truck Operators, Cold Room Operators, Packaging Machine Attendants, Vestibule Helpers, Frozen Inspectors, and General Laborers.
The Production Lift Truck Operator reports to the Packaging Area Supervisor, Shift Manager.The individual in this position is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting and supplying rework and bulk product to the packaging lines, for removing and transporting finished product pallets and totes from packaging areas to their appropriate storage locations, for supplying the appropriate materials to a variety of areas, and for housekeeping duties as needed.The individual in this position will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the packaging area.
This position requires the Operator to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.
It is imperative that the person conduct her/himself in a manner that ensures alertness and constant awareness of the safe operation of equipment and its surroundings.The individual in this position must establish and maintain open communication and productive working relationships with various employees and areas.
Overtime requirements in this position are common and may be required to meet operational goals.
The nature of this work requires that lunch and break schedules for this position be adjusted to fit the activities of the team and production line.BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS:1.
Must have an acceptable safety record.2.
Must have an acceptable attendance record.3.
Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.4.
Must possess and maintain current powered industrial truck certification (card) through the Moses Lake Plant.5.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time on a lift truck.6.
Must be able to tell time.7.
Must be able to distinguish colors.8.
Must be able to read, understand, and communicate materials in a manner to successfully perform the job duties.9.
Must demonstrate basic computer skills (turn computer and monitor on and off, use a mouse and keyboard).10. Must demonstrate the ability to perform basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, counting, averages, and percentages) including the proper use of a calculator.11. Must be able to work in stressful situations.12. Must be able to work in extreme environments:
noisy, hot, cold, wet, dusty, including working inside and outside the facility buildings.13. Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks on a regular basis.14. Must possess manual and physical dexterity.15. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pound16. Must be able to perform the duties as outlined in the Essential Functions document.
