Accountabilities Core to All RolesManage the agronomic and cultural practices of the Line Maintenance nursery to ensure quality specifications and timelines are obtainedCoordinate planting, pollinating, harvesting and shelling of mainland and Contra-season nurseriesContract land for the planned nursery activitiesWrite nursery trials and packet seedEnsure all quality testing and specifications are in compliance with CoP2.7 PLDDrive collection, distribution and summary of all site data and informationCoordinate site work schedules, determine workforce needs, and train staffEnsure effective interactions with other departments and functions. Collaborate with Syngentas Parent Seed, Biological Assessment and Genotyping groups to ensure a smooth and efficient hand-off of relevant data and LM SeedsEnsure efficient management of inventory track and traceUtilize Operational Excellence principles to ensure a high performing, customer centric, value focused, agile and quality Line Maintenance programAssist LM Manager with developing and monitoring of annual operating budget for LM Operations consistent with regional and global cost objectivesFoster an operational culture founded on adherence to all applicable HSE and other corporate policies, procedures and guidelines. Active leadership in the Goal Zero campaignEnsure compliance with all OSHA and Government regulations including Worker Protection Standards. Conduct and comply with audits to ensure HSE aspirations are being met or plans are in place.Develop and foster a culture which ensures HSE integration into all activities and ensuring employees take personal responsibility for HSERemain current with latest production and nursery technologies and develop specialized skills (i.e. systems, data analysis, equipment maintenance, fertility, irrigation, etc.) to support continuous improvement of LM processesRecruit, train and mentor temporary staff for peak season labor requirements

Knowledge, experience & capabilities:Critical knowledge
BS or Associate degree in agriculture or related fieldCertified Crop Advisor License preferredKnowledge in nursery seed production and plant breeding activitiesCommercial Pesticide Applicators License preferredKnowledge of office functions and processes, including MS Office, MS Databases and Spreadsheets and SAPExcellent organizational and communication skillsExperience in working in diverse, geographically dispersed teamsAbility to work effectively with outside vendors and internal personnel and departmentsMust be able to be forklift certifiedAbility to be CDL certified preferred
Critical experience
2-4 years of experience in nursery or seed production processesAbility to operate tractors, sprayers and harvesting equipmentExperience working in cross-functional teams
