PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT Responsible for the origination, logistics and coordination of grain activities. Responsible for managing and leading location employees in the operation of the business. SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP Supervises leads, organizes, trains, and develops location grain and agronomy employees through effective staffing, setting and managing performance expectations, and actively maintaining performance management standards to maximize growth, profitability and customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Provides leadership and supervision to the location surrounding grain and agronomy activities Responsible for profitable grain origination from farmer customers Maintains in-depth knowledge of commodities markets Directs daily operations of facility, working in conjunction with location operational employees to coordinate grain and agronomy activities In concert with the Janesville Location Manager, efficiently utilizes Janesville and Dewar assigned employees to complete agronomy operations Provides courteous, timely and professional customer service Coordinates grain inventory compliance Actively promotes, all grain marketing programs, including AgriVisor and MID-CO brokerage services. Ensures location employees comply with government regulatory requirements, safety standards and company policies and procedures, including Federal Warehousing Bureau requirements. Continue to look for opportunities in the local area to expand the business. Proficient in Oakland, the grain accounting system Performs grain contracting and accounting at location OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Responsible for making farm visits to both existing customers and key prospects. Responsible for scheduling timely marketing meetings. Follows GROWMARK s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply Performs all other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS Normally requires an Associate s degree and at least three years of previous experience working in the grain business or agricultural experience, or the equivalent thereof, to demonstrate knowledge around agricultural technology, customer service and communication with a broad demographic customer base. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Strong computer skills and the ability to learn grain accounting software, as well as a track record of working effectively with customers. Must have and maintain a valid driver s license and satisfactory driving record Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary Must be willing to work extended hours beyond those considered normal Occasionally exposed or required to: Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)Noisy conditionsWorking conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measuresLift 21-50 lbs. Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
