Come grow with us!?General Purpose and Scope of Position:??The Logistics Manager role is responsible for analyzing, coordinating and initiating important components of the Supply Chain.? This includes 3rd?party trucking and process governance of movement of product throughout the Supply Chain up to and including the last mile.? This position will be expected to have strong knowledge and experience with transportation and contract management.?Key Skills and Abilities Include:Experience in the field of transportation and supply chainAbility to evaluate the costs of transportation and servicesAbility to leverage telematic software tools to drive logistical solutions and safetyDemonstrated understanding of transportation rules and regulations in North AmericaDemonstrated skill in building relationships with transportation carriers and transportation/logistic managers of suppliers and customersAbility to develop and map shipping routes and schedulesEffective negotiation skills with carriers and documenting and tracking the agreementsStrong analytical skills, problem solving, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectivelyExperience with Transportation Management Systems preferredExperience in ERP, reporting and analytics tools such as JD Edwards, Microstrategy, and Tableau a plusAPICS or CSCMP Certifications in logistics disciplines is a plusAbility to travel (up to 25%)?Key Personal Attributes Include:Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations or Related DisciplineExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong ability to work across multiple teams regarding supply chain transportation and logistics issues?Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:Drive logistics reliability and responsiveness through effective development and utilization of people, process and infrastructure. Top level objectives include management of cost, compliance, quality, safety, service, and efficiency.Planning and Sourcing:Support internal and third-party logistics capacity to meet the planned requirements with sufficient upside and downside flexibility. Provide operational and financial analysis and corresponding budget development.Manage engagement with service providers to ensure fulfillment of contracted agreements.Engage with fertilizer and seed suppliers to analyze and report on earned and forecasted rebates.Infrastructure Support:Implement cost and performance and reporting standards for fleet management, warehouse management, and personnel development in alignment with regulatory standards and industry best practices.Manage policy, process, and infrastructure development programs as necessary to achieve division level strategic objectives.Analysis and Communication:Develop organizational awareness, understanding and support for adoption of best practices.Communicate impact of changes in commercial, regulatory, or internal expectations to the organization.Provide ongoing analyses in areas such as transportation costs, procurement, back orders or delivery processes.Confer with operations and supply chain leadership teams to determine ways to optimize service levels, maintain supply chain efficiency and/or minimize cost.Develop and analyze logistics data to provide key recommendations.
