YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Logistics Representative ll, are to:
Provide operational support to Import Control Officer concerning the entry and admissibility of merchandise, its classification, valuation, and the payment of duties and fees assessed or collected by Customs;
Be the primary contact for merchandise imported by Bayer CropScience, LP;
Maintain a high level of service to internal and external customers by minimizing custom clearance time, updating SAP regarding shipment changes effecting the estimated arrival time of merchandise, remaining current on international transportation and Customs regulations;
Complete data entry requirements for MES and SAP;
Assist in the management of merchandise moving via truck/rail and work closely with carriers to ensure pickups are made timely without demurrage charges;
Prepare EPA notice of arrivals;
Prepare and collect the necessary documents needed to clear entries through Customs;
Coordinate shipments with Foreign Trade Zone operations;
Support duty drawback, Miscellaneous Trade Bill (MTB), First Sale and other duty savings programs;
Provide timely transmission of required documents for entry to customs brokers;
Assist with return export orders.
WHO YOU ARE
Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Masters degree and 0-2 years of experience, or Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, or related field and 4+ years of experience in Product Supply, Logistics, Customer Service, Warehouse, or International Business;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Access);
Excellent communications skills (written and spoken);
Process oriented, with strong analytical and problem solving skills;
Basic accounting and math skills;
Knowledge of EPA / FDA / USDA regulations;
Basic understanding of Duty Drawback, Foreign Trade Zone, First Sale programs;
General knowledge of production, warehousing, and transportation concepts;
Proficient in SAP processes;
Possess or pursuing Customs broker license;
Advanced degree (MA/MS/MBA);
Knowledge of international trade terminology (incoterms, letters of credit, etc);
Knowledge of multi-modal dangerous goods regulations (IMO, ICAO, DOT);
Knowledge of U.S. Customs and other regulatory agencies;
Open to potential relocation.
