Founded in 1818, the company is headquartered in White Plains, New York.Position Summary:TheLogistics Specialistwill plan, execute, and drive continuous improvement in logistics operations functions including Rail, truck, intermodal, trans-loading, inventory management, and export for multiple US Milling facilities.Core Functions:Responsible for assigned plants domestic transportation planning and execution which will include: selecting, evaluating & negotiating rates with carriers, coordination with sales on customer needs, coordinate with production plants on product availability, plan and execute transportation, develop & monitor KPIs, balancing plant loading capacities with schedules, etc.Primary Responsibility for Milling Railcar Planning & Execution; which will include scheduling, coordination with all Milling Rail Plants, documentation, and accessorial charge management and payment execution.Responsible for Milling Rail Fleet sizing and optimization, KPI development, tracking, and reportingGenerate and maintain Rail Rate Guide utilized by sales for pricing.Generate and maintain Rail P&L demonstrating opportunities for improvement in pricing, cost management, fleet size, and cycle/idle times.Work with railroad operations and local plant operations to resolve service issues.Assume ownership for all rail demurrage. Conduct all analysis of demurrage incurred and proactively propose solutions to avoid future demurrage implementing optimization processes.Coordinate between sales, accounting, and transportation planners to resolve accrual and expense variances related to freight. Maintain freight payable account and reconcile discrepancies.Administer freight rate quotes to support administration, sales and supply chain teamsMaintain proof of insurance for all trucks that are transporting productsIn conjunction with corporate, assist with carrier rate negotiationsMaintain a working knowledge of federal rules and regulations that apply to shippers and motor carriers in order to ensure complianceAnalyze and distribute reports from SAP and other reports generated from internal Bunge systemsAct as power user to all supply chain systems and train field employees on system-related processes and proceduresOptimize freight P&L, and minimize detention and demurrage costsWith all stakeholders, collaboratively develop processes and balanced scorecard KPIs aligned to BNA performance.In conjunction with Sales, Production, Supply Chain, etc., identify opportunities, propose strategies and participate/lead efforts to improve Business Unit performance such as: logistics/scheduling processes, transportation options & costs, 3rd party providers, Inventory levels, lead times, rail/truck fleet sizing & utilization, warehouse requirements, etc.Other Supply Chain duties as assignedSkills/Experience RequirementsBachelors degree in supply chain, business, or related discipline.Minimum of5 years of related experienceAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to multitask and work effectively under time constraintsAbility to work effectively with minimal supervisionCompetency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power PointExperience in SAP or other ERP system, and experience with Rate or TMS systems are preferredAbility to travel up to 20%Bunge is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
