Position Summary:Responsible for the strategic and tactical oversight of asset management strategies within a plant, with the goal of providing reliable processes to the business. Activities include the alignment and implementation of Maintenance and Reliability practices/programs/processes, operational effectiveness and continuous improvement techniques, proactive maintenance and repair, project design/planning, contractor, vendor and spare parts management; best practice application, training and support.Job Responsibilities:Process reliabilityResponsible for aligning, deploying and executing the Milling Maintenance and Reliability vision/strategy as well as direct program administration Promotes a culture that builds, operates and maintains plants that are operationally sound, safe and reliable. Implements leading reliability practices and aggressively raises the performance of under-performing departments by monitoring key performance indicators Supports the deployment of Reliability processes across departments and ensures the reliability culture is foundational to operations. Enforces common reliability processes and metrics (focus on eliminating the root-cause of reliability problems) to achieve targeted results Partners with the Maintenance and Reliability team to identify, deploy and leverage opportunities for continuous improvements applicable to the entire business/platformChampions the plant Environmental, Health, Personnel Safety and Food Safety processes
Conducts Job Safety Analysis/Job Cycle Checks and takes a leading role in these areasManages and implements preventative maintenance and reliability activities at the plant.
Partner/interfaces with other departments, personnel facility management, contractors, community and local regulators to ensure asset health and availabilityIn accordance with plant maintenance and reliability strategies, standards and practices, supervises, monitors and reviews ongoing maintenance activities and records to ensure asset health and adherence to guidelines, codes, regulations, requirements and overall production qualityOversees the execution of repair procedures and tasks to ensure compliance with the fundamental plant reliability strategies, standards and practices.Monitors repairs through systems and controls (i.e. Computerized Maintenance Management System) to ensure work orders and requests are executed in accordance to established work flowReviews and analyzes maintenance/reliability maintenance metrics and performanceLeads and/or supports audit compliances, root/cause analysis processes within the maintenance team Partners with internal and external resources to develop strategies for operations of assigned areas, (i.e. electrical, mechanical, systems, operations, etc) which includes technical optimization of processesDevelops, maintains and applies consistent maintenance and reliability best practices Has knowledge of and is responsible for understanding the latest innovations, technology and trends for maintenance & reliability practicesSupports operations by analyzing and developing conclusions in regards to failures, downtime and lost production and identifies opportunities to improve operator reliability and/or determines acceptable risk tolerance for assetIdentifies and maintains critical spare parts inventory and control and utilizes strategic sourcing agreements to optimize valueEstablishes and manages overall plant/department/areas maintenance budgets.
Has responsibility for cost control of repairs and maintenance including labor and partsManages ongoing maintenance/ reliability related projects (i.e. asset reliability/defect elimination) utilizing a broad knowledge of maintenance and reliability practices and proceduresAssists in general project planning, payback justification, cost estimation and project trackingRecommends/approves selection of contractors/vendors. Manages, analyzes maintenance vendor issues and contract administrationOversees and ensures that reliability design criteria is included and adhered to basis total cost of ownership and reliability requirementsResponsible for the people management in area of responsibility including recruiting, retention, development and team engagementResponsible for the appropriate scheduling and delegation of activities for a team of maintenance/reliability employees and 3rd party contractorsIdentifies training opportunities/needs and facilitates training sessions for maintenance personnel, focusing on precision maintenance training Job Requirements:Bachelors? degree in Engineering or related field, or Technical degree in related field and 5 years maintenance and or operations experience, or High school diploma or equivalent combined with 10 years? experience in maintenance and or operationsThree or more years of proven operations leadership, having direct experience in successfully leading changeDemonstrated experience with hands on troubleshooting of industrial equipmentExperience managing complex projects Ability to plan and execute work with minimal supervision Experience creating and executing plans to drive organizational resultsDemonstrated ability to identify and implement detailed solutions to complex technical problems involving multiple technologiesProficiency in computer skills including use of spreadsheets and understanding of databases Relocation assistance is available with this position.
