Maintenance Technician – #01RI6
We are seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician. This position will be located in Kihei, HI, reporting to our Technical Discovery Manager. This position will work to identify and implement improvements to equipment, infrastructure and facilities to support the team on Maui. The successful candidate will join a talented Maintenance Team and become a critical member of a very diverse and driven team of individuals and will be important to the overall success of the site. Key Responsibilities:Ability to diagnose, repair and maintain specialized equipment utilized at the facility, including electrical and computerized equipmentAbility to repair or develop new work areasMaintain records of repair and maintenance of equipment to meet OSHA and Monsanto standards and guidelinesConduct projects utilizing carpentry, electrical, plumbing skillsCare and maintenance of shop, equipment, and shop tools required to carry out work dutiesOperate equipment as needed (i.e. telehandler, scissor lift, forklift, tractor, etc.) Actively participates in Monsanto ESH Safety Programs along with being able to actively identify and resolve hazards across the siteAbility to read and understand equipment repair/service manualsPerform other tasks as assignedQualifications:Required Skills/Experience:High school diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant experience requires Valid driver???s license and ability to obtain a class a or B CDLA minimum of 3 years of facility maintenance, construction, or related field. Excellent problem solving skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of safe tool use and shop practices. Knowledge of record keeping for vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair required by OSHA. Shows initiative and is proactive with great attention to detail. Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with a variety of partners. Desired Skills/Experience: A certification or degree in electrical maintenance, construction, or similar field and/or a certification or degree in a similar fieldJourneyman level electrical experience or carpentryAbility to learn a new tradeAbility to set direction and prioritize work for other team membersExperience with the operation of forklift, scissor lift, and boom liftKnowledge of Electrical Safety Standards including local, state, and federal requirements or have the ability to obtain the knowledgeExperience in carpentryExperience in fabricating and retrofitting equipment from initial design through execution of changesProficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar programs to facilitate maintenance record keepingSupervisor skills and set work schedules Bayer successfully completed the acquisition of Monsanto in June 2018, bringing together Monsanto???s leadership in seeds and plant traits with Bayer???s leadership in chemical and biological crop protection.
