Job Responsibilities: Participates actively in safety and skills training in pursuit of personal improvementMaintains a thorough knowledge of production processes, equipment and operations in the interest of diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctionsPerforms preventive maintenance duties on equipment as required and maintains an competent knowledge of equipment, operations and processes throughout the plantDisassembles and diagnoses mechanical failures and performs repairs on production and facilities equipment as requiredInstalls new equipment as required, aligns, rebuilds and performs preventative maintenance duties as necessaryMaintains manuals of replacement parts, specifications, blueprints of equipment and maintenance requirements to facilitate repairs also maintains such files and records in an orderly manner for future referencePerforms welding or general maintenance duties as required in repairing production equipment and fabrication of partsDocuments time spent, work performed and parts used on projects by completing time records Conducts regular inspections of tools, safety and production equipmentDevelops and maintains knowledge of hand and power tools used in the repair and maintenance of plant equipmentUse of equipment such as forklifts and boom/scissor liftsJob Requirements: Electrical controls and troubleshootingUnderstanding and knowledge of Boiler/Steam, hydraulic and pneumatic equipmentComputer hardware and software skillsAble to meet the physical requirements of the position including but not limited to: able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/sit/walk for extended periods of time, squat/kneel, climb stairs/ladders, operate vibrating equipment/power tools/assistive transfer devices, able to grip/grasp/pinch and reach overhead, work in a variety of environmental conditions (indoor, outdoor, hot, cold, dust, etcAbility to work any shift, weekends, and holidays to support 24/7 operationsMaintain a good, regular and prompt attendance recordThe position may also require exposure to and the safe use of chemicals, solvents, and cleaners common to mechanical work that may be hazardous and/or cause injury if specific instructions regarding their mixture, use, and disposal/storage are not properly followed
Will be required to wear PPE such as hard hats, safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, fall restraint, gloves, arc flash suit and other task specific items in order to maintain the highest level of job safetyMust be able to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 55 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 100 pounds (with assistance) on an occasional basis but not repetitiousProlonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, walking, and reaching on a daily basis will be necessary. Along with a full range of physical motion in order to operate manual and electrically-powered tools and electrical test equipment.
Ability to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs, ladders in all buildings, and to work at heights while wearing fall protection.
