Manager Executive Communications – Prepared Foods – Chicago

To help us achieve our broader business objectives and to elevate and protect the Tyson Foods brand, we are seeking candidates to help build a world-class Communications and Brand function. This senior manager of executive communications will be a strategic communications partner for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) member who leads our Prepared Foods business unit. In this role, he/she will spend 60-70% of his/her time independently developing and executing internal strategic and change management communications strategies tailored specifically for this leader and the needs of her organization . He/she will spend the other 30-40% of his/her time on external thought leadership platform development, speech writing, external speaking engagements and social media engagement strategies. For media relations opportunities tied to the executive communications, this person will work closely with the Prepared Business Group PR lead.
Responsibilities: Engage directly with the Group President of Prepared Foods and her leadership team. On a one-on-one basis, provide regular communications counsel to senior leadership.Independently develop the holistic communications strategy and plan for communicating business priorities, strategy and initiatives to team members in the Prepared Foods business unit.Thoughtfully implement internal communications plans, translating business strategy, initiatives and progress into clear messages for functional team members; developing communication materials, including talking points, presentations, written strategy updates, change management materials and select Intranet content; and serving as the executive producer for internal events and forums, such as quarterly town hall meetings and team member roundtables.Evaluate and execute external communication activities for the leader of Prepared Foods in partnership with colleagues in Corporate Public Relations. For approximately 2-4 external speaking engagements per year per executive, responsibilities include taking the lead on producing fresh, innovative content for influencer-facing presentations, as well as developing blog and social content.Measure the success and effectiveness of communications programs, adjust strategies accordingly and provide regular updates to leadership.Maintain stakeholder relationships to identify communications needs and opportunities and strategically address the gaps.Participate in developing and evolving the broader story of Tyson Foods, reflecting proof points from the Prepared Foods business unit and its leader?s point of view. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor?s Degree in Communications or a related field8-10+ years? experience in Marketing / Communications; change management communication experience a plusExceptional written and verbal communication skillsExperience developing compelling presentation materials, including proficiency in PowerPointProven strategic communications counselorProject and program management skillsProblem-solving skillsExperience working with senior leadersDesire to collaborate as part of a large, matrixed organization
