YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Manager, Health SafetyEnvironmentSite Support, are to:
Manage and direct development, adoption and implementation of Health, Safety and Environmental programs at Bayer sites and operating units, including regulatory interpretation and direct hands-on support for sites that do not have dedicated HSE staff;
Promote the development, adoption and implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental internal and regulatory compliance regulations for Bayer sites within the U.S. and P.R.;
Advise the sites HSE coordinators and site leads of issues or changes to HSE policy, legislation and rulemakings, and help formulate Bayer positions on such matters and ensure the development of written safety programs for sites;
Develop and implement a culture that focuses on HSE compliance at each location;
Lead HSE projects to improve HSE key performance metrics at the sites;
Lead internal site assessments for continuous improvement of the HSE systems, procedures and policies in preparing sites for global audits;
Partner with site leadership and HSE staff to investigate and mitigate loss events such as injuries, spills and near-hit events and assist with development and tracking of corrective action plans;
Ensure audit and incident finds are investigated to identify root causes and mitigated to prevent reoccurrence;
Able to respond to site incident in person based on direct of U.S. HSE Head and/or Site Support Head;
Effectively communicate policy and procedure changes to site leadership;
Lead efforts to standardize and integrate company best practices into site operations, ensure the sharing of best practices across sites;
Participate in the Bayer U.S. Compliance Audits as directed by the U.S. Country HSE Auditor;
Participate in HSE Management System Audits and PPS Audits as requested by Corporate Health Safety and Sustainability (CHS);
Travel 50% domestically.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or other technical discipline;
Technical background with 10plusyears of experience and five (5) plus years of directing HSE programs;
Outcomes focused, organized and able to manage large complex projects with the ability to move swiftly to achieve objectives;
Experience with conduting mulit-media environmental, health and safety compliance programs and audit processes that evaluate and track facility compliance with applicable environmental, health and safety requirements;
Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills;
Experience with Farm Safety to include farming equipment;
Experience within the agrochemical industry;
Strong working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards, EPA industry standards, plant breeding, agricultural and similar Health, Safety and Environmental related fields;
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with all levels of the organization with particular emphasis on the HSE community and management;
Ability to manage complex projects;
Effective organization, coordination and project management skills;
Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and lead in a highly matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree or professional certification (i.e. CSP, or similar);
Experience with the petrochemical or pharma industries;
Experience with environmental management systems.
