Management and execution of all phases of the Line Maintenance (LM) seed production for corn and/or soybeans to ensure a reliable supply of high quality LM Seed that meets quality, quantity and timeline specifications outlined in CoP 2.7 Parent Line Delivery. Collaborate with Parent Seed, Line Purification, Global LM functional groups and Production and Processing Technology to develop best practices in LM seed production. Foster an operational culture founded of HSE and operational excellence.
Accountabilities Core to All Roles
Manage the agronomic and cultural practices of multiple Line Maintenance nurseries to ensure quality specifications and timelines are obtainedCoordinate the planting, pollinating, harvesting and shelling of mainland and internal/third-party Contra-season nurseriesWrite nursery trials and packet seedEnsure all quality testing and specifications are in compliance with CoP2.7 PLDDrive collection, distribution and summary of all data and information related to Line Maintenance activities including KPIsCoordinates with Management Team to set schedules, determine workforce needs, and train staffEnsure effective interactions with other departments and functions. Collaborate with Syngentas Parent Seed, Biological Assessment and Genotyping groups to ensure a smooth and efficient hand-off of relevant data and LM SeedsEnsure efficient management of inventory track and trace through the lines life cycleUtilize Operational Excellence principles to ensure a high performing, customer centric, value focused, agile and quality Line Maintenance programManage Capital Investments to deliver HSE, quality and financial ROI for the BusinessDevelopment and monitoring of annual operating budget for LM Operations consistent with regional and global cost objectivesFoster an operational culture founded on adherence to all applicable HSE and other corporate policies, procedures and guidelines. Active leadership in the Goal Zero campaign.Ensure compliance with all OSHA and Government regulations including Worker Protection Standards, Conduct and comply with audits to ensure HSE aspirations are being met or plans are in placeDevelop and foster a culture which ensures HSE integration into all activities and ensuring all employees take personal responsibility for HSERemain current with latest production and nursery technologies and develop specialized skills (i.e. systems, data analysis, equipment maintenance, fertility, irrigation, etc.) to support continuous improvement of LM processesRecruit, train and mentor employees for advancement opportunities
