Manager, Loan Processing

Provides leadership, management, and technical expertise to the loan processing transaction team. Ensures the effective and efficient operation of the department and related areas. Provides tactical guidance, leadership, development and specialized expertise to operations and business associates. Responsible for task prioritization, team quality assurance, maintenance, service level adherence, and special projects as assigned.The essential functions include, but are not limited to:?Manages workflow, establishes procedures, ensures adherence to procedures, and identifies opportunities for improvement.Provides tactical guidance for documentation and closing of transactions.Assists with development of reporting for use in processing, servicing, quality control, Sarbanes-Oxley and risk management controls, review, and statistical monitoring of team transactions/accounts, including departmental key metric volumes and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Serves as escalation point for processing and operational issues identified by internal and external customers.Participates and/or leads project teams to meet project deliverables.Assesses the training needs of the team, and coordinates training opportunities to meet identified needs.Participates in Business Continuity updates, and prepares management reports for Operations metrics.Facilitates meetings, presents information to large groups and provides training, as needed.Drafts and maintains written process flows, procedures and job aids for the transaction team and Legal Loan Processing.Supervises staff. Sets performance standards, manages workflow, grants authorities, evaluates performance, and recommends personnel actions within delegated authorities. Consults with Human Resources as appropriate. Mentors, trains and develops Supervisors.Coordinates interaction with auditorsPrepares ad-hoc reports. Performs other duties as assignedBasic QualificationsHigh school diploma. Associate?s or Bachelor?s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or other relevant discipline preferred.5+ years of experience interpreting commercial loan documents prior to closing, booking and funding commercial loans; or appropriate combination of education and experience. 3+ years of management/supervisory experience, preferably in banking or financial services industryPreferred QualificationsAdvanced knowledge of commercial loan instruments and pertinent documentation and issues, and ability to provide advice, interpret policies, and apply and adapt procedures to meet customer needs.Intermediate knowledge of databases, queries, reports, personal computers and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets.Intermediate knowledge of loan documentation, terms and terminology, and ability to design and implement process improvements preferred.Paralegal certification preferred.Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.Strong detail and customer service orientation.Excellent organizational, analytical, decision making and problem solving skills.
