Develop and maintain appropriate external 3rd party supply relationships in the U.S., Canada and in LATAM for counter-seasonal production (if required). Ensure strong P&S representation on the NA soybean OU to support business growth and profitability improvement.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Achieve full function-wide compliance with external and internal standards on HSE, product quality, Code of Conduct, and key risk management processes; engage in shaping the space on new internal standards and compliance processes Actively engage in the crop and operational planning to meet business objectives; ensure achievable plans are agreed and risks shared and understood, deliver to the agreed plan Develop operational budgets to meet business planning expectations; manage operational costs within these agreed budgets and develop compelling business cases for unplanned spend. Drive process improvement via OPEX and lead/support global and regional functional initiatives. Develop and maintain appropriate external 3rd part supply relationships in the U.S., Canada and in LATAM for counter-seasonal production, as required. Build people capability at an individual, and organizational level to meet the combined challenges of competitive COGS and product quality, alongside an increasingly complex product offer, while ensuring robust succession and people development processes. Develop and own the NA soybean supply chain strategy, defining the application of production capacity and technology to meeting business plans Act as a member of the NA Seed Operations Leadership Team to shape functional process, standards and culture Responsible for developing a capital asset improvement plan with business cases to meet company objectives for asset investment and capacity Lead, promote and participate on cross-functional teams to improve products and processes to position Syngenta, Inc. as an industry leader Recruiting and supervising and developing department personnel to ensure that a talented pool of employees is available for succession purposes Interface with Research and Development (R&D), Production and Processing Technology (PPT), Parent Seed, Quality Operations and Commercial to implement/execute agreed upon strategies and improvements for supply reliability Determine production planning parameters such as production safety and base yield levels, to ensure production risks are balanced against the achievement of the supply plan. Influence business decisions to maintain inventory in check. Guide and support the vendor contracting process, through agreeing purchase prices and other contracting terms within the framework provided through procurement. Manage the variety transition from development to supply chain (i.e. Fast Track capacities and capabilities, Parent line testing and IP securities) Own, define, and communicate vendor performance against agreed KPIs. Identify and develop new/existing grower/vendors and ensure all are tracked against the appropriate performance measures (KPI) and grower segmentation parameters to drive continuous improvement. Ensure IP security is in line with the crop strategy.Skills:Qualifications: Masters preferred or Bachelor degree Agronomic discipline preferred Functional knowledge of seed production and vendor management. Fluent in English Experience in leading diverse, geographically dispersed teams 10-years of experience in planning and or production processes in Agriculture.
