Manager of ManufacturingManagement Oversee the management of metals manufacturing employees; provide guidance in all phases of production, maintenance and quality control initiatives; select, train, motivate, review, coach and retain a high performance team. Conduct timely and accurate employee performance evaluations; address performance issues as needed. Implement, and maintain policies, procedures and intra-departmental communications; maintain managerial relationships by encouraging and providing a timely, two-way flow of information between subordinates, management, and user groups. Participate in operational meetings as required or necessary. Monitor staffing requirements to ensure full coverage at all times; authorize sick-time, vacation requests, expense reports and ADP activities. Motivate staff to improve quality of work performed and provides training and development opportunities as needed. Ensure compliance in Health, Environment & Safety/Quality Manage budgeting, long term planning, procurement and expenditures approval; monitor and control expenditures within budget limits. Develop organizational strategies, analysis, and recommendations for department; ensure objectives align with organizational objectives; continually evaluate existing processes to determine areas of improvement. Production and Planning Manage and coordinate operations in implementing metrics, process improvements and organizational changes to drive continuous improvement; set standards that are measured, monitored and achieved/exceeded. Ensure metals manufacturing optimizes capacities, total cost effectiveness and value to the customer base; direct operations to achieve targeted cost and efficiency results that maximize value for the business unit. Optimize workforce flexibility and scheduling to meet customer demand and revenue projections; anticipate problems and takes corrective action to minimize the impact. Work with cross-functional teams to establish and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve quality; direct each manager on maintaining and implementing improvements for assigned areas. Collaborate with cross-functional teams regarding metrics reporting functions; discuss ideas and new technologies for better ways to produce products and establish a better, safe work environment; collaborate with supply chain leadership to ensure coordination and maximize supply chain efficiencies. Ensure structures are in place to monitor quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods; promote continuous improvements through lean initiatives.Special Job DimensionsWill be required to travel up to 25% of the time.
