Manager Value Improvement

SUMMARY:The Value Improvement Manager is responsible for developing and executing direct lean cost savings projects and managing a portfolio of category projects including line extensions, quality improvements, brand maintenance and other projects across the Foodservice BU. This individual will work closely with category managers, R&D, operations, sales, and finance, and must be proficient at managing teams and leading cross functional initiatives. This individual will develop an understanding of the link between the product portfolio and business complexity (supply chain, go-to-market, etc.) and identify opportunities for improved efficiency within both process and product design.Essential Duties:Develop a consistent pipeline of Value Improvement projects across the BU portfolio, including assessing the P&L impact to set prioritization of projects. Lead and prioritize cross functional teams to execute business projects within the NPD/stage gate process. Identify opportunities for improved efficiency in all aspects of the business process. Provide business support to category teams in order to deliver business goals. Identify and implement process improvements in planning (alignment/goal clarity), project management (prioritization and speed of execution), and other activities.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: BS degree required, MBA preferred.Experience: 3-5 years experience.Special Skills: Comprehensive understanding of Foodservice marketplace dynamics. Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage a large number of projects simultaneously in a matrix organization. Understanding of Continuous Improvement fundamentals. Strong entrepreneurial drive/leadership, proven analytical skills, problem solving, priority setting, and teamwork skills; creativity and the ability to act assertively, take initiative, and follow through as an owner of the BU; desire to make a difference in both the BU and the culture; passionate to understand and represent the needs of our consumers and customers both internal and external. Strong financial skills and analytical ability.
