We currently have a Manufacturing Manager position available at our facility in Moses Lake, WA.
SUMMARY This Manufacturing Manager directs and coordinates the manufacturing functions of the three areas that are directly responsible for production at the plant. The areas of responsibility are Production, Quality Assurance and Maintenance/Engineering. In this position, you will be responsible for the attainment of plant production requirements at budgeted cost while adhering to all quality, safety, human resource and other governmental requirements. Through direct reports, you will direct the planning and execution of operational budgets for Production, Maintenance and Quality Assurance and will manage production and maintenance quality and sanitation programs, striving to minimize downtime, and providing a safe working environment, and food safe finished product that meets government and environmental criteria. The focus will be on continued improvement of the plant in areas such as teamwork, employee involvement and process ownership.
RESPONSIBILITIES * Assure that all Safety, Human Resource, Food Safety and Sanitation requirements and regulations are adhered to. * Management of the daily / annual manufacturing processes which include production, quality assurance and maintenance activities including engineering to help ensure plant and division goals are met or exceeded. * Achieve annual financial goals as established by Food Group. * Coordinate the creation and submittal of the annual plant Capital Plan to the Unit Director based on input from the Production Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, Maintenance and Engineering Managers. * Initiate continuous improvement activities through the development of action plans, problem solving, engineering and/or equipment changes, safety, quality, & cost improvement efforts, lean manufacturing, KT project management, SPC improvements, benchmarking, open innovation with other manufacturers, and all other activities. Communicate key findings Unit Director to help migrate learning's/key findings for cost & efficiency improvements as well as quality improvements.
REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's Degree from 4 year college or university.
* Ten plus years related experience and/or training. * Knowledge of potato processing techniques, basic standards cost accounting, quality assurance methodologies, maintenance activities including preventative maintenance, project management a plus. * Knowledge of OSHA and FDA regulations regarding manufacturing and employee safety. * Must have excellent communications skills, computer skills at the intermediate level, Knowledge and use of Excel and Word at an intermediate level.
