Manufacturing Technology – Senior Plant Process Engineer (Nutrition & Health)
We are looking for an experienced process engineer for our plant in Rochester, NY. The process engineer will manage the Rochester site???s process technology function. In this position, the main target is to increase the safety and productivity of our manufacturing assets, optimize costs of the plant through process and technology improvements. In this role, you will: Be responsible to support and continuously improve existing Process Safety Management program and supporting the site management in implementation and management of program and associated processesManage the plant process capability measurement, evaluation programs and troubleshooting actionsParticipate in plant process improvement program in order to improve and optimize plant profitability Co-manage the industrialization phase for new product / new process additions in collaboration with R&D scientists and manufacturing The essential role and responsibility for this position include, but are not limited to the following: Improvement of existing processesAnalyze batch records and quality results and monitor consistency of operations by using appropriate database and statistical tools ; propose and implement corrective actionsParticipate in GAPP process, may lead local Rochester plant projects, participate in economic evaluation of the projects to allow proper prioritization, participate in evaluation and validation of changesAct as a resource to monitor industrial trials (sampling; follow up, gather information)Translate and convert process instructions from innovation in local quality systemTrouble shootingLead trouble shooting in the plant for process and quality issues as a resource for manufacturingIntroduction of new processes/ productsInterface with Innovation process development; product development and Applications or introduction of new products Ensure timely introduction of new products and strains/processes ??? work with PlanningTranslate and convert process instructions from innovation in local quality systemInvestmentsTeam member in investments projectsAssist in defining new process equipment or equipment modificationsKey driver in installing new technology in plantMetricsUpdate bottleneck map and capacity ??? work within Rochester KPIsProcess reliabilityList of strains/processes/YieldsProcess Safety ManagementServes as expert technical support to develop, implement and drive improvement in Process Safety and lead in key process safety assessmentsCreate, implement, manage and enforce relevant aspects of Process Safety Management (PSM) program and contributes to development of program in RochesterDocuments, review and updates relevant Process Technology (PT) data related to process hazard, process and equipment designDevelop, review, update and implement process safety-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines as neededDevelop and document Management of Change (MOC) documentationTrack and report process safety indicators, key process safety metrics, action plans, and priority recommendations Manage and identify qualified team members to participate in PHAs, Participates in key Pre-Startup Safety and Operational Readiness ReviewsGeneral Participate in inter-site technical network and projectsAssist in training of plant personnelParticipate in identifying and implementing best practicesEconomic evaluation of process (performance indicator)Early participation in project ??? to identify constrains, capabilities ??? limits etc. from a plant perspectiveResource person for innovation process data and information from plant in up scaling/down scaling purposesProcess Guideline Approval Qualifications:EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION /SKILLS REQUIRED Master or Bachelor degree (minimum) in Biochemical/Chemical engineering or Mechanical EngineeringA minimum of five years of experience in process related work such as process development or process engineering preferably in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of process design engineering principles Process Safety Management knowledge and/or experience (preferred)Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to teach/mentor others and lead in a team environmentMust demonstrate strong verbal, written, analytical skills as well as have the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management ??? extremely important due to remote reporting structure Project organizational skills are required.
