Market Development Manager Manitoba (R-5731)
The Market Development Manager is the key contact point of retail sales agronomists to help create demand for WinField United Brands, and partner supplier strategic growth initiatives, throughout Manitoba and eastern Saskatchewan. This position will also be responsible for the training, sales support, and product performance with retail sales agronomists and farmers. It is anticipated that this role will spend 80% of their time in customer-facing activities, and 20% of time supporting Answer Plot and Total Acre trials. The individual will be expected to demonstrate and effectively use all associated customer-facing tools, including the WinField United Answer Tech digital agronomy tools. Key Responsibilities: Strategy ExecutionWith input from sales and marketing team, this role has responsibility for demand creation and sales of WinField United proprietary brands (CROPLAN Seed, Executive and Performance Brand CPP products) and partner supplier strategic growth initiatives.Responsible for the effective utilization of WinField United resources designed to support and grow the business, such as: Answer Tech digital agronomy tools, Answer Plot, and Total Acre. Customer RelationsPartner with WinField United Account Manager and customers to develop customized business plans.Act as the focal point for customer relationships with the retail sales agronomists.Be able to fully demonstrate, communicate and leverage all the technical and exclusive aspects of WinField United proprietary brands. Sales GenerationResponsible for achieving key performance indicators, including sales and growth targets.Partner with the Account Manager to grow the proprietary brands and other strategic products through a defined plan and consistent communication with assigned accountsPartner with WinField United Agronomist to support retail sales agronomists by leading product information meetings, Answer Tech Clinics, Agronomy Clinics, Answer Plot days, and assisting sales agronomists with farm calls.Effectively demonstrate how to use the WinField United Answer Tech digital agronomy tools. Product PromotionSupport the WinField United Agronomist or Field Trial Manager in planning, planting, spraying, harvesting, and hosting events at Answer Plot locations.Support retail sales agronomists to set up, monitor, harvest, gather production information and promote CROPLAN Total Acre field trials.Bachelor's degree in Agriculture with a minimum of 5 years of agronomic or sales experience with direct customer contact. Individuals with a 2-year diploma in agriculture and extensive industry experience will be considered.Experience in selling seed and utilizing ag technology decision tools will be considered strong assets for this role.Proven ability to interact well with customers, suppliers, employees and management of all levels.Ability to create and present interesting, informative and educational product presentations.Ability to effectively work individually in a remote environment, while also maintaining a collaborative virtual team relationship.Proven ability to solve and resolve issues quickly and effectively.Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Able to lift 50 lb. bags, climb on and off farm machinery, walk and work in field plots.Daily travel, extended hours and overnight travel required (30% or more travel).Environment: farm machinery can be loud, fields are dusty and dirty, and weather conditions can vary from hot and humid to cold and wet.
